Hobart and ITW Food Equipment Group Raise $44,000 To Support Local Junior Achievement Chapter
TROY, Ohio. May 9, 2014 — Hobart Brothers Company and ITW Food Equipment Group partnered to host the Third Annual Junior Achievement Bowl-A-Thon, raising $44,000 to support educational programs in financial literacy, career readiness and entrepreneurship for grades K-12. The event was held at Poelking Marian Lanes in Huber Heights, OH on April 12 and consisted of 245 bowlers.
“Junior Achievement has always been an important cause for our two companies to support,” said Jennifer Monnin, vice president/general manager, wire division at Hobart Brothers Company. “This event has become a fun and effective way for us to help the youth in our community gain valuable skills they can carry into adulthood.”
The 49 teams involved in the event had a minimum fundraising goal of $125, with contributions collected from employees receiving a 3-to-1 match by parent company, Illinois Tool Works (ITW) and resulting in minimum $500 per-team donation. Several business units within the two companies held events to add to their fundraising totals.
The companies also added some friendly competition to the event, contending for the highest team score (winners shown).
